Arrival at Guwahati

Day 1

On arrival at Guwahati airport, you will first come to know our quite friendly representative who will be there to receive and assist you at the hotel. After refreshment, you will first visit Kamakhya Temple also known as the Kamrup-Kamakhya Temple, is a major Hindu pilgrimage site located on the Nilachal Hill in Guwahati, Assam, India. The Kamakhya Temple holds tremendous religious significance and attracts thousands of devotees every year, especially during the Ambubachi Mela, a fertility festival celebrated in June. Devotees believe that the temple grants wish and brings prosperity and fulfillment. After that enjoy a full day excursion and river cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra, witness the beautiful sunset over the river.  Guwahati – Shillong

Day 2

The next day, after a delicious breakfast, we will drive to Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. Enjoy the scenic beauty of this hill station and check-in at the hotel. Take some rest and then visit the Ward's Lake, a beautiful artificial lake which is popular tourist spot known for its serene ambiance and scenic surroundings. You can enjoy boating on the lake and take a leisurely walk around its well-maintained gardens. There is also a wooden bridge that offers stunning views of the lake. Shillong – Cherrapunjee

Day 3

Start early in the morning from Shillong to Cherrapunjee, which is approximately a 2-hour drive. Visit the Nohkalikai Falls, which is one of the tallest waterfalls in India. It is approximately 5 kilometers from Cherrapunjee town and offers breathtaking views. Head to Mawsmai Cave, which is known for its limestone formations. Explore the cave with a local guide and marvel at its natural beauty. Visit the Seven Sisters Falls, which is a cluster of seven waterfalls cascading down from the cliffs. Enjoy the panoramic views and take memorable photos. Stop by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, a spiritual center located in Cherrapunjee. Spend some time exploring the serene surroundings and seeking inner peace. Explore the Living Root Bridges of Cherrapunjee, such as the Double Decker Living Root Bridge or the Umshiang Double-Decker Root Bridge. These bridges are made by training the roots of trees to intertwine and form a natural bridge. Enjoy a delicious local lunch at one of the restaurants in Cherrapunjee. Try traditional Khasi dishes like Jadoh (a meat and rice dish) or Tungrymbai (fermented soybean curry). Visit the Eco Park, located near the Seven Sisters Falls. Shillong – Mawlynnong

Day 4

Having a delicious breakfast and sightseeing tour of Maywlynnong is the perfect way to start the day. As we drive towards Mawlynnong, we will pass through several villages that are known for their impressive living root bridges. These bridges are made by training the roots of trees to grow over a river, creating a natural bridge. They are unique and worth a visit. After that visit Dawki, a small town on the Indo-Bangladesh border famous for its crystal-clear river. Take a boat ride on the Umngot River and witness the stunning beauty of the riverbed with floating rocks. You can do water activities like kayaking and swimming in a nearby village Shnongpdeng. After that go for a walk on Single Decker Living Root Bridge, located near Nongriat village, this hidden gem is one of the less crowded living root bridges. It is about a 3-hour trek from the village and offers beautiful views of nature along the way. After that take a guided tour to Mawphlang Sacred Forest, which is located about 25 kilometers from Shillong, the Mawphlang forest is considered sacred by the Khasi tribe. The forest is well-preserved and serves as a natural habitat for various plants, animals, and butterflies. On your way to Mawlynnong, you can visit Mawsmai Cave in Cherrapunjee. These limestone caves are known for their stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations. Guided tours are available to explore the caves safely. Upon reaching Mawlynnong, explore the "Cleanest Village in Asia" known for its cleanliness, lush gardens, and sky view viewpoint. Shillong- Bhalukpong

Day 5

On the 5th day of the tour, after breakfast head towards Bhalukpong which is considered the entry point of Arunachal Pradesh. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and unwind. Bhalukpong – Dirang

Day 6

After breakfast, bid farewell to Bhalukpong and head towards to Dirang, which is situated on the bank of River Kameng and is a gateway to Tawang. Enjoy the road trip with enchanting surroundings. Dirang – Tawang

Day 7

Start your day with breakfast and then complete the check-out formalities at the hotel. After that, head towards Tawang. During the trip, you will visit Sela Pass a high mountain pass situated at an elevation of around 13,700 feet (4,170 meters) above sea level and is one of the highest motorable passes in the world. The pass is known for its breathtaking natural beauty, with snow-capped peaks, rocky terrain, and scenic landscapes. It is surrounded by the Eastern Himalayas and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Sela Pass holds great religious significance as it is believed to be the gateway to the Tawang Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in India. You can visit Jaswant Garh War Memorial and Nuranang Falls. The Jaswant Garh War Memorial is dedicated to Jaswant Singh Rawat, an Indian Army soldier who single-handedly fought against Chinese forces during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Located 14 kilometers away from Tawang, the memorial is situated at an altitude of 10,000 feet and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The Nuranang Falls, also known as the Jang Falls, is a picturesque waterfall located near the town of Jang. Day 9

Start your day with breakfast and then complete the check-out formalities at the hotel. After that, head towards Bomdila. The distance between Tawang and Bomdila is approximately 180 kilometers, and it takes around 6-8 hours to cover the journey by road. En route, you can visit Sangti Valley, known for its natural beauty and hot water springs. Reach Bomdila by afternoon and check into your hotel. Visit the famous Bomdila Monastery and enjoy the scenic views of the Himalayas from the Upper Gompa. In the evening, you can explore the local market and try some local cuisine. Wake up early in the morning and proceed for an elephant safari from 5:00 AM to 6:30 AM in the western range of the national park. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours. From Nimati Ghat, you can take a ferry to Majuli. The ferry ride takes around 1.5-2 hours, depending on the weather and water conditions. Post check-out, get picked up by the driver who will transfer you to Aizawl Airport to board the flight for Agartala. It is known for its collection of ancient rock-cut sculptures and is considered to be one of the largest sculptural sites in India. Which date back to the 7th or 9th century. The site is home to around 30-foot high rock reliefs of Lord Shiva and other Hindu deities. There are also numerous smaller statues and carvings scattered across the site. The site is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva himself and is said to bring blessings to those who visit and pay their respects. Unakoti is located amidst lush green forests and beautiful landscapes. You can enjoy nature walks and short treks in the surrounding areas, taking in the scenic beauty and spotting wildlife. You can engage in activities like rock climbing, rappelling, and camping in the nearby hills and forests. After the sightseeing tour of Unakoti, return to Agartala. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Agartala – Neermahal

Wake up early in the morning and set out on a journey to Neermahal for the full-day sightseeing tour. Neermahal is a magnificent water palace situated in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake. One of the most iconic landmarks in Tripura, a former royal palace built by the king of Tripura, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishor Manikya.  Visit Kamalasagar, a beautiful lake located on the border of Bangladesh. Explore the picturesque surroundings and enjoy the serene environment. Later pay homage to Lord Jagannath at the Jagannath Temple, which is a replica of the famous Puri Jagannath Temple. The temple hosts various festivals and rituals that attract devotees from far and wide. After the sightseeing tour of this magnificent place, return to Agartala. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Agartala – Udaipur

Greet the early morning, enjoy an appetizing breakfast, and head towards Udaipur, which is around 55 km from Agartala, the Tripura Sundari Temple is a major attraction. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hindu mythology and is dedicated to the goddess Tripura Sundari. The temple boasts intricate carvings and sculptures, making it a popular religious and architectural site. Furthermore, Udaipur is famous for its lakes, and the Dumboor Lake is a must-visit. Surrounded by lush greenery and hills, the lake offers a tranquil setting for boating and picnicking. There is also a floating island called Chaturdashi Island within the lake, which is an added attraction. The evening is free at your leisure. You can rest in your room or visit the market for shopping. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

RELAXING TRIP

This time we decided to go for a small family luxurious and relaxing trip to Orccha and Jhansi. Magic box Holidays out did themselves in this trip. My father and I are all about history and my mother was mostly concerned of eating authentic Bundelkhandi food. We told Paridhi from Magic box the reasons for visiting and what all we would like to do. She got a us a wonderful deal in Amar Mahal hotel which is most luxurious in Orccha with breakfast and dinner included. She had also made sure that we had an amazing driver throughout the trip who was very knowledgeable about the area.!
