Arrival at Cochin

Day 1

This day your trip would be started with meet & greet of our company’s representative. Upon arrival in Cochin - Queen of the Arabian Sea, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel; we would help you checking you in the hotel get refreshed and have some refreshment. Cochin is also called as The Gateway to Kerala. It is the industrial and commercial capital of Kerala. If time allows then in the evening enjoy the city tour covering local market and the boat ride in the pounds. The breathtakingly scenic and naturally prosperous state Kerala is hailed as Gods own Country. In the night get transfer to the hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

Cochin Sightseeing

Day 2

Next day have your breakfast at hotel and go for sightseeing, including; Jewish Synagogue, Church of St. Francis, Dutch Palace, Chinese fishing nets and Santa Cruz Basilica, a 500 years old church. From time immemorial, the Arabs, British, Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese have left indelible marks on the history and development of Cochin. In the evening enjoy the Indian Classical Dance Katthakali. Then you will be taken by ferry up to Wellington Island (Fort Cochin) by ferry. Cochin concludes a wonderful evening. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Cochin - Munnar

Day 3

This day after breakfast check out from the hotel and get driven to Munnar. Upon arrival in Munnar, transferred to the hotel; we would help you checking you in the hotel get refreshed and have some refreshment. Spend the remaining day at leisure and enjoy picturesque landscapes. Munnar is a town located in Kerala state in the southern Western Ghats in South India. The name is often used to refer to the whole tourist area of Idukki District of which the town forms a part. Munnar Panchayat of Devikulam block is the largest in the district with an area of 557 km². The name of Munnar is believed to be derived from the Tamil words Munu (three) and aaru (river), referring to the town's strategic location at the confluence of the Muthirappuzha, Chandavurai and Kundaly rivers.

Munnar - Erawikulam National Park - Munnar

Day 4

Today after breakfast get ready for some sightseeing. Visit the aromatic tea plantations or indulge in thrilling sport activities like paragliding. Kerala Tour Itinerary is devoted to sightseeing in and around Munnar. Enjoy panoramic views of Anaimudai, the highest peak of South India at 2695 m, is visible from Munnar. Visit the Christ Church and proceed for wildlife watching at Eravikulam National Park (16 km). In Erawikulam Natonal Park you will get to see the Neelgiri Tahrs, are the extinct animal species. Continue to Rajamala Hills lying adjacent to the park and stop by at Madupetty Dam, a famous picnic spot for boating and horse riding en route to Top Station. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Munnar - Thekkady (Periyar)

Day 5

Leave for Periyar in the morning (4 hours) and transfer to hotel on arrival. You may opt for a pleasant boat ride along the Periyar Lake in the evening. This Lake was conceived by A British engineer, Col. V. Pennycuick who was the then chief engineer of Madras Presidency.  This boat cruise is open from morning 7 PM to afternoon 4 PM and is of approximately 2 hours duration. You will be moving around the lake. Enjoy watching varied birds and animals like tigers, elephants, wild boar, deer, etc at the Periyar/Thekkady National Park.  You can also visit a few tribal villages around Periyar and witness fascinating activities of tribal’s collecting honey from dangerous hill bees. Return to hotel at night.

Thekkady - Sightseeing

Day 6

Today after Breakfast, will spend our time with Elephants we will arrange a special programme with elephants where you will get a chance to spend some time with elephants. The Indian elephant’s has been captured, tamed and worked by people for more than 4000 years; it stirs the human imagination like no other animal. Tourism centered on elephant is developed to provide a better future for unemployed or badly employed elephants .Kerala has developed many well run tourist camps. In this safari you will get a unique experience, seated a top an elephant guest are taken along rides in to the spice plantation to get the good views of valleys and mountains. Programs: (Total Duration  is 2 Hours) one hour Elephant ride & Bathing , Feeding ,  Showering , Timber Dragging , Command & Communication etc…

Thekkady - Kumarakom

Day 7

This day after breakfast at the hotel, leave for Kumarakom by road, arrive Kumarakom and check in at the hotel, get refreshed. If time permits go for the local sightseeing and indulge yourself in the arena of this tremendous place. Kumarakom is on man-made land reclaimed from the vast Vembanad Lake. The name Kumarakom was derived from the deity of its oldest temple Kumaran. Kumaran's Akam or place became Kumarakom. The place was fertile and most suitable for cultivation of rice and coconut trees. This village was part of Vadakkancore kingdom. But in 1750 Marthanda Varma the King of Travacore conquered and annexed it to Travancore.

Kumarakom - Alleppey (Houseboat)

Day 8

On this day, after breakfast check-out from the hotel and get transfer to the backwaters’ houseboat. Check in at this day on an enthralling houseboat cruise, and then board the luxurious houseboat for an overnight journey along the tranquil Kerala backwaters to Alleppey. Alleppey is literally known as The Venice of East, just because of its location and indulgence of nature. The uncountable lakes and backwaters thrilled the town with experiences and joy. This place is usually washed by silver waves of Arabian Sea. The Kerala houseboats that cruise these emerald waterways are an improvisation on the large country barges. Modified to meet a novel concept of holidaying, the Kettuvalloms (houseboats) are comfortably furnished with an open lounge, one or two bath attached bedrooms and a kitchenette, and are extremely eco-friendly, merging smoothly into the panorama.  Every houseboat is manned by a crew of 3 men, usually a cook, guide and oarsman. House boating can be the most relaxing experience for any age, size or type of people.

Day 9

Alleppy - Mararikulam

Disembark from the houseboat at Alleppey and transfer to Mararikulam. Check in to hotel near the beach; spend the rest of the day at leisure. Mararikulam is a picturesque fishing village by the Arabian Sea; home to the local fishing community, life hasn’t changed much here in the last many decades. A day in this lovely seaside hamlet sees men leaving for the sea in the morning, while women attend to the household chores. The village has a host of fine sandy beaches fringed by coconut palms, ideal to stroll around, enjoy the waves and spend some time in solitude. The Mararikulam Beach offers numerous beach activities to tourists such as surfing, parasailing, swimming or beach volleyball. If you are not keen on an adrenalin-rush, it is a great idea to take a walk to the traditional coir-making units for which Mararikulam is famous.

Day 10

Mararikulam - Day at Leisure

Day free to spend at leisure on the beaches. Enjoy playing with the golden sands or take a swim in the shallow water. A soothing sunbath is a perfect option to unwind. The more adventurous ones can enjoy thrilling beach sports. An Ayurvedic massage can also be availed (optional). Return to hotel at night.

Mararikulam- Departure

Day 11

This is the last day of this tour, after having breakfast at the hotel, check out from there, get transfer to Cochin International Airport, board at the flight and fly back to your home with pleasure in soul. The wonderful tour ends here, with lots of unforgettable memories.

RELAXING TRIP

This time we decided to go for a small family luxurious and relaxing trip to Orccha and Jhansi. Magic box Holidays out did themselves in this trip. My father and I are all about history and my mother was mostly concerned of eating authentic Bundelkhandi food. We told Paridhi from Magic box the reasons for visiting and what all we would like to do. She got a us a wonderful deal in Amar Mahal hotel which is most luxurious in Orccha with breakfast and dinner included. She had also made sure that we had an amazing driver throughout the trip who was very knowledgeable about the area.!
